Akai is one of the leaders of Tanpopo and a member of the Nijibana Rainbow Flowers who is first among the Nijibana's in Hazakura efficiency being at 512%.
When Akai was 17, her family's house set on fire by an arsonist with all of them inside. Kawashita came into the house with Kurosawa and saved her by using the body parts of her dead siblings and grafting them onto her body, before giving her the Cherry Blossom Leaf Hazakura.
